The Jamaica National Heritage Trust (JNHT) will be partnering with the Jamaica Manufacturers Association (JMA) and the Social Development Commission (SDC) for the Annual Jamaica Day Celebration. The theme is "Celebrating Jamaica: Gold for Goals".

Jamaica Day 2012 will mark the 10th Anniversary of Jamaica Day in Schools and the 2nd Anniversary of the Official Proclamation of Jamaica Day by the Governor General. This event will be a major contribution to the celebrations of Jamaica 50.

The event will start with the Ceremonial Raising of the Flag at the National Heroes Park at 8:00am, followed by a street parade from Duke Street, Downtown Kingston to the National Heroes Park. The road march promises to be very exciting with marching bands from various communities in and around Kingston and St. Andrew.

Synchronized reading of the Official Proclamation of Jamaica will be done across the country at 10:30am. After which the Jamaica National Heritage Trust will be hosting an award ceremony with four major categories of awards: Humanitarian, Community, Nation Builder and Heritage Preservation. Exhibition booths of authentic Jamaican products will be on display together with showcases from the business community and schools at the National Heroes Park closing with an old fashion penny concert.
